Focussed Psychological Solutions – Sessions For Older Teens and Adults Living With ADHD

Our ADHD program is focused on assisting in skill development and self-esteem improvement. The key skill areas that we work on with individuals (and their families) are as follows:

  1. Self-Motivation
  2. Task Initiation
  3. Response Inhibition (being able to wait and control their impulses)
  4. Increasing their ability to hold multiple things in their mind at once (working memory)
  5. Building their ability to sustain attention
  6. Increasing their emotional control
  7. Improving their ability to plan and organise
  8. Improve the ability to work independently
  9. Understand how their behaviour is impacting others

In addition, think.act.feel also assist teens and young adults with school and study skills. The key topic areas we cover are:

  1. How to set academic and personal goals
  2. How to schedule time
  3. How to organise papers
  4. How to speak and listen effectively
  5. How to work with teachers and peers
  6. How to read textbooks and non-fiction
  7. How to take study notes
  8. How to take tests
  9. How to write papers
  10. How to give a presentation
  11. How to track grades

At the beginning of a treatment cycle, we use a questionnaire to benchmark our starting and finishing points. We are keen to see obvious results over a 6-month period.
