Focussed Psychological Solutions – Sessions For Older Teens and Adults Living With ADHD
Our ADHD program is focused on assisting in skill development and self-esteem improvement. The key skill areas that we work on with individuals (and their families) are as follows:
- Self-Motivation
- Task Initiation
- Response Inhibition (being able to wait and control their impulses)
- Increasing their ability to hold multiple things in their mind at once (working memory)
- Building their ability to sustain attention
- Increasing their emotional control
- Improving their ability to plan and organise
- Improve the ability to work independently
- Understand how their behaviour is impacting others
In addition, think.act.feel also assist teens and young adults with school and study skills. The key topic areas we cover are:
- How to set academic and personal goals
- How to schedule time
- How to organise papers
- How to speak and listen effectively
- How to work with teachers and peers
- How to read textbooks and non-fiction
- How to take study notes
- How to take tests
- How to write papers
- How to give a presentation
- How to track grades
At the beginning of a treatment cycle, we use a questionnaire to benchmark our starting and finishing points. We are keen to see obvious results over a 6-month period.
